Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has suggested that he has only heard fantastic things from his scouts regarding West Brom starlet Rekeem Harper who has moved to Ewood Park on loan, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
Harper is one of a number of exciting prospects trying to make the grade at the Hawthorns, and he received a major vote of confidence from Baggies boss Tony Pulis by being handed his first-team debut in the opening day win over Bournemouth this season.
Harper – who became the second Premier League player to be born after the turn of the Millennium – was brought on earlier than both Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu in the victory, and followed that up with a substitute appearance in the League Cup win over Accrington Stanley.
The 17-year-old has now joined League One side Blackburn for the season, and Mowbray suggested that based on what he has heard, the deal is an excellent one for all parties.

“Young Rekeem Harper, the reports I have had back from the scouting department, and from people I trust in football, they have told me what a fantastic talent he is,” he said, as reported by the Lancashire Telegraph.
“He has played for West Brom’s first-team in the Premier League but he is of a tender age.
“You can see that when you meet him, although he is a giant of a boy, he’s very young, bubbly, looks extremely athletic and when you watch him play he seems to be all over the field.”
It could well be argued that joining Rovers is a brilliant move for the teenager as there are surely no bigger clubs in the third tier than Mowbray’s men.
That expectation at Ewood Park should surely help Harper really develop his game during his time away from the Hawthorns, and if he can help Blackburn build on an unspectacular start – though their games have been anything but dull so far – that will surely significantly boost his chances of making a further impression on Pulis ahead of his return to his parent club.
