Marcelo Bielsa has been a revelation at Leeds United so far.
Tony Mowbray has told Blackburn Rovers’ official website that he is excited by the threat posed by promotion-chasing Leeds United – even if the ‘world class’ Marcelo Bielsa will be in the opposite dugout today.
Leeds will move back to the top of the Championship at least for a couple of hours if they get past Mowbray’s side at Ewood Park this afternoon.
With Bielsa in tow, the Whites have arguably been the most impressive football side in the division so far, losing one of their 12 league outings.
The veteran Argentine joined United in the summer after previously taking charge of Lazio, Athletic Bilbao and Argentina’s national team to name but a few.
In terms of profile, he is unmatched in England’s second tier, but Mowbray, whose side will move into the top six with a victory, is enthused about pitting his wits against the 63-year-old it seems.
He told Rovers’ official website: “I’ve spoken long and hard about the spirit and the togetherness of the team.
“We will be up against a world class manager, but it’s about rolling the sleeves up and going to work, excited by the challenge. Leeds United at home is just the next challenge.”
