Aston Villa are reportedly keen on Blackburn Rovers attacker Bradley Dack.
Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray is ‘confident’ that Bradley Dack won’t leave the club this summer, but he admitted that he ‘won’t stand in his way’ if a ‘reasonable’ offer comes in for him amid links with Aston Villa and Brighton.
The Sun recently claimed that Premier League duo Villa and Brighton are chasing the highly-rated forward as Dean Smith is a big fan of the player.
It is said that with no new contract on the agenda for the 25-year-old, a host of clubs have been put on alert as some have expressed their interest in his services.
Versatile attacker Dack played a big part in Blackburn maintaining their status in the Championship last season following their promotion as Mowbray commented on his future at the club amid links.
“I’m very confident he won’t move on this summer,” Mowbray told Lancs Live. “He’s had his first season in the Championship and he’s scored 15 goals. Everybody knew he could do it in League One and he was fantastic for us in League One.
“His first challenge was in the Championship last season and my beliefs, and I’ve spoken to Bradley, are that he should do another year with us and see how close we can get.
“He loves the club. I believe that he should show that he can do it again and if he scores 20 odds goals again next season then I think some seriously big clubs will be looking at him. As I’ve always said to him, we’re not here to stop his career moving forward, I want all of my players to play in the top-flight, and if the top-flight come along and they’re reasonable with the numbers then we won’t stand in his way.”
During the recently concluded season, Dack played 45 games in all competitions for Rovers, scoring 18 goals and supplying 10 assists along the way [transfermarkt].
Villa recently earned promotion to the Premier League. The club, manager Dean Smith and even the supporters will have a strong knowledge of the best players in the division.
There is no doubt that Dack is in that bracket and given his performances last term, it won’t be a surprise if he does end up parting ways with his current club this summer, but Rovers will want to keep hold of him if they want to push for a top-six finish next term.
