West Ham United stopper Joe Hart has impressed in recent weeks.

Tony Gale has told Sky Sports that West Ham United stopper Joe Hart deserved to be dropped, but he is a worthy number one again now.

Hart signed for West Ham from Manchester City last summer, and his initial few months at the London Stadium did not go according to plan.

Hart lost his place in West Ham’s first-team after a series of error prone displays, with Adrian becoming David Moyes’ first choice.

However, in recent weeks, Hart has been restored to West Ham’s goal, and he has impressed.

And Gale thinks that Hart has proven that he is a better goalkeeper than Adrian now.

“I’m so pleased to see him [starting again for West Ham],” Gale said.

“I do think he is better than Adrian in goal. I think he did have a poor time and Adrian deserved to come in but I think that performance at the weekend showed what a good pro he is.

“He hasn’t complained and has just got on with his game. And he has won the West Ham fans around as well.”

Hart’s latest performance for West Ham was arguably his finest in a Hammers shirt.

The England international stopper helped Moyes’ side pick up a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Hart made two particularly memorable saves during the contest, to preserve West Ham’s point.

Hart now could have an important part to play for West Ham over the run-in, as Moyes’ side look to avoid the drop.
