West Ham United are currently just one point behind the top four in the Premier League table.
Tony Gale has told Sky Sports News on the morning of 10th March that West Ham United now have a realistic chance of breaking into the top four this season.
The Hammers have gone on a fine run of form, which has seen them lose just two of their last 19 matches, and climb to within one point of the Champions League qualification spots.
The Hammers are putting pressure on both Arsenal and Manchester City, as the season reaches it’s crunch stage.
And Gale feels that Slaven Bilic deserves a lot of credit for guiding the London club to such a good season, as he coped with an injury crisis so well.
“It’s [qualfying for the top four] is realistic now – with the last couple of results,” he said. “I think it’s brilliant. It’s how they have gone about it, as well. When they had their injuries, Slaven Bilic got five draws in a row and that was key. They kept their confidence up. It’s a great season and they are very good to watch.”
West Ham’s injury crisis struck back in November and December, and Bilic quickly adapted his style to suit his side.
The Hammers went far more defensive over the Christmas period, and they were rewarded for their style.
West Ham managed to keep accumulating points, with many of their key players on the treatment table, and that has been crucial.
The Hammers will now be looking to finish their season off in style, with their next match coming against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
