West Ham United suffered a deserved home defeat to Everton over the weekend.

Tony Gale has claimed that West Ham don’t give opposing teams ‘a lot of respect’ and they need to stop going toe-to-toe with the opposition following their defeat to Everton over the weekend.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side, like many big teams outside of the top-six, have struggled to showcase any consistency in their season from producing a top display at home to Liverpool to losing against Cardiff.
It has been a source of frustration for the Hammers who are vying to secure a top 10 finish in the Premier League at the very least under their recently appointed manager.
Speaking to The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on talkSPORT (03/04/2019 at 7:44 am), Gale was critical of West Ham’s approach to games and urged them to change.
“They are so hit and miss,” Gale told talkSPORT. “When Liverpool came to the London Stadium, they were clearly the better team. And then they go and lose to Cardiff, struggle against Huddersfield and you think ‘Oh my goodness, what’s going on here?’
“They just can’t get any consistency to their game. I think they are a team sometimes that don’t give the opposition a lot of respect and they go toe-to-toe with them. I think it needs to be looked at by the manager by saying that ‘these players are not good enough to go toe-to-toe and we have to get some consistency in our team.”

There have been a number of positives for the Irons this season and they have without a doubt improved on the troubles that occurred during the previous campaign.
From a players perspective, the likes of Anderson and Issa Diop have been standout purchases, while their style of play has improved under their Premier League winning manager.
Added with that, their performances at the London Stadium have improved dramatically. Prior to losing to Everton, they were unbeaten on home soil since January.
Nonetheless, next Monday night, they make the short trip to Stamford Bridge as they will take on their neighbours Chelsea in what will no doubt be a hotly-contested match.
