Queens Park Rangers returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday afternoon. Rangers got the better of Cardiff City 2-1 at Loftus Road in London.

The London outfit headed into the match against Cardiff on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Preston North End away from home at Deepdale in the league.

Cardiff took the lead on the stroke of half time through Sol Bamba, but Yeni N’Gbakoto drew Rangers level just past the hour mark, and Matt Smith scored the winner for QPR seven minutes before full time.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes and vice-chairman Amit Bhatia have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reactions to the win.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts QPR had 56% of the possession, took nine shots of which two were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Cardiff had 44% of the possession, took 12 shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

QPR are 16th in the Championship table at the moment with 43 points from 35 matches.
