QPR stunned Aston Villa with a 3-1 win.

After demolishing Wolves at the weekend, Aston Villa fans began to believe that automatic promotion was a realistic goal.
A home defeat to Queens Park Rangers days later was not in the script.
Last night QPR won 3-1 at Villa Park, pulling off one of the surprise results of the season.
Just three weeks ago this QPR side lost 5-2 at home to Nottingham Forest, so winning away to one of the division’s most in-form teams was not expected.

QPR owner Tony Fernandes was thrilled with the result, and a little taken aback.
He posted on Twitter after the game, hailing the win and praising manager Ian Holloway and his players.
A bad night for Villa got worse as Cardiff City won, extending the gap between second and third place to seven points.
QPR are now in 15th place and as Fernandes points out, the result does little for their season, but it makes them feel a lot better and gives them hope that next season might bring improvements.
