Queens Park Rangers won for the first time since August on Saturday.
Owner Tony Fernandes has singled out the two Queens Park Rangers players who he believes made a big difference during Saturday’s win at Fulham.
The R’s, whose preparations were rocked by newspaper allegations surrounding manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, secured their first win since August at Craven Cottage.
On another day it could have been a different story, with Fulham missing two penalties – one before Conor Washington’s opener and one after Idrissa Sylla’s winner – the first of which was saved by Alex Smithies.
Tim Ream equalised for the hosts shortly after half-time, but QPR recovered to climb to 13th in the Championship.
Afterwards, Fernandes took to Twitter to praise the efforts of both Washington and Smithies, posing a selfie with the pair from inside the dressing room.
He wrote:
QPR, who will be hoping the international break does not halt their momentum, face back-to-back home fixtures – against Reading and Bristol City respectively – upon their return to action.
Hasselbaink’s side ended August in fifth position, but slid down the table following five league games without a win – which included a 6-0 home defeat toNewcastle United.
