Robert Snodgrass joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Villa signed former Leeds United winger on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit West Ham in the summer of 2017.
The 30-year-old has been a superb player for the Villans, and has scored important goals in the Championship and has provided assists.
Former Villa defender Dorigo has suggested that Steve Bruce’s side should secure the services of the former Leeds and Norwich City winger on a permanent contract this summer.
The former Leeds and Chelsea star, though, has suggested that the future of Snodgrass – who earns £40,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star and cost West Ham £10.2 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Hull City in January 2017 according to BBC Sport – will depend on whether or not Villa are in the Premier League next season.

Dorigo told BetStars when asked if it will be a big loss for Villa if Snodgrass goes back to West Ham: “Absolutely, when you talk about experienced players – you’ve got one that can play a bit further up the pitch and score a few goals as well.
“We know he’s got great quality. I was surprised it didn’t work out better for him at West Ham because they’ve clearly got a quality player but he didn’t fit into the system with the players that they had and he was the odd man out.
“But I’m sure he’d like to feel important which he is and Villa I’m sure will try to do all they can to keep him. But of course it all depends on where they are – whether they go up or stay where they are.”

Promotion key
Villa are in the Championship playoffs this season, and there is a very good chance that they will get promoted to the Premier League.
The Villans should not even give second thoughts to signing Snodgrass on a permanent contract if they are in the English top flight next season, but the 30-year-old Scotland international winger could have reservations over playing yet another season in the Championship.
