Tony Dorigo has suggested to LUTV that Leeds United aren’t ruthless enough.
Leeds dominated Saturday’s trip to Bristol City but Marcelo Bielsa’s side only returned to West Yorkshire with a 1-0 victory.
The Whites, who sit second in the Championship, have netted 60 league goals this season – the same amount as 13th-placed Brentford.
United, who have been missing leading goalscorer Kemar Roofe in recent weeks, could and certainly should have scored more than once at Ashton Gate, having had 16 shots [BBC Sport], and former Leeds man Dorigo reckons that his old side lack a killer instinct in the final third.
“I think we’ve been saying this a few times this season as well because we have so many shots on target or shots off target and opportunities, but we have to really convert them.
“Are we actually ruthless enough? “I’d probably say not because our play deserves more goals.”
Leeds, who hit four past West Brom earlier this month, probably aren’t ruthless enough, no, but so long as they’re keeping clean sheets it doesn’t matter a whole lot.
Sure, the players could spare their fans a lot of anxiety by not only winning by the odd goal, but the defence has conceded four times in the last six Championship games.
Despite a profligate attack, the defence is superb and providing it stays that way, Bielsa will be leading the Elland Road side back to the Premier League in a couple of months.
