Pawel Cibicki joined Leeds United in the summer of 2017 and failed to make a huge impact at Elland Road this season.

Sweden's forward Pawel Cibicki vies for the ball during the UEFA U-21 European Championship Group A football match Poland v Sweden in Lublin, Poland on June 19, 2017.

Tony Dorigo has suggested to Betstars that Leeds United attacker Pawel Cibicki has been poor for the club this season.

Former Leeds defender Dorigo has not been impressed with the performances of Cibicki, who can operate as a striker or as a winger.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Whites from Malmo in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £1.5 million, made just five starts and only two appearances in the Championship this season, providing two assists in the process.

Dorigo told Betstars about Cibicki: “When he came in for the first few games Cibicki I thought he was poor. He was poor so that’s why he hasn’t had too many opportunities.

“He had another game at Bolton away, again he had a poor game so he has a bit of catching up to do. He’s had one or two decent games – QPR away he actually didn’t play too bad.”

“I just think Cibicki and one or two others are much of a muchness, no one’s really shone and said ‘I’ve got to be in that side’,” added Dorigo. “I think Cibicki is one of a number of players that have struggled.”

Need for improvement

Cibicki has been disappointing for Leeds this season, which is why the former Sweden Under-21 international attacker struggled for regular playing time this season.

There is no doubt that the 24-year-old is a quality footballer, and perhaps he could be an important player for Leeds next season when the West Yorkshire outfit will be looking to finish in the Championship playoffs.

Leeds endured yet another disappointing season and failed to finish in the top six of the Championship.
