Former Leeds United star Tony Dorigo was asked for his view on Garry Monk.
Former Swansea manager Garry Monk
Former Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo has expressed his concern that Garry Monk may not be be ‘left alone’ to get on with the job of leading the club to promotion.
Speaking to Radio Yorkshire, Dorigo said he rates Monk highly but fears interference from ownership into first team affairs.
Monk was appointed in June, and is the sixth appointment made by Leeds president Massimo Cellino in two years, having replaced Steve Evans.

Dorigo said: “I like that he is young, hungry and he has got plenty of experience (already). I thought the style he clearly used at Swansea was very impressive, and he is an impressive young manager. It’s great that Leeds have got him.
“I just hope he’s allowed to go and do his stuff. That’s always going to be the question.”
Leeds United Chairman Massimo Cellino
A new head coach once again means a fresh start for Leeds, but it is also an opportunity for Cellino to start afresh too and develop a more patient nature.
Leeds do have new developments behind the scenes which may aid this, with a new chief executive, Ben Mansford, appointed earlier this month.
This could see Cellino take a step back and let Monk have greater control, and if the new head coach can last the season at Elland Road, then he will be doing something right.
