Leeds eased to a 4-0 win over Blackpool on Thursday evening in their first pre-season friendly – and Tony Dorigo was impressed with new signing Marc Roca at full-time on LUTV commentary, who lasted 60 minutes in York.
Roca was the only new signing involved in Thursday’s match – but Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra were all in attendance as the Whites cruised to victory.
Robin Koch opened the scoring after a Junior Firpo assist and a quick free-kick from Jack Harrison. Harrison’s corner was then headed in by Firpo to make it two. Rodrigo nabbed a third after good work from Joe Gelhardt.

Roca was calm and collected in midfield. Although there were a couple of signs of rustiness, his passing and willingness to make a tackle were eye-catching. We rated him at 8/10, and Dorigo was happy with him.
“For me, I’m looking at Marc Roca [as a standout]. He looked good, he did look good. Yes it is against Blackpool and his first game. But you can see why he was brought to the club,” Dorigo said on commentary, at full-time.

Coming in from Bayern Munich, the expectation is large. A player with Spain youth caps. But given his lack of game time over the last couple of seasons, he will surely be excused for needing a bit of time to get back into it.
But Roca’s passing was excellent. Dictating the tempo of play as Archie Gray played more of a box-to-box role, the new no.8 was also the author of a few brutal tackles. Leeds fans are going to enjoy their new £10million man.
