Would Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere be a good signing for West Ham United in the summer transfer window?
West Ham United have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far and have made a number of new signings ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Hammers have recruited right-back Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer following the 32-year-old Argentina international’s departure from Premier League rivals Manchester City at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Marko Arnautovic, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, has arrived from Stoke City, while former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is on his way from Bayer Leverkusen.
The London club have also secured the services of England international goalkeeper Joe Hart on a season-long loan deal from City.
Former West Ham striker Tony Cottee, who is now 52 years of age and works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has suggested that the next player that Slaven Bilic’s side should sign is 25-year-old Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The England international spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Premier League club Bournemouth, making 22 starts and five substitute league appearances in the process.
“All they need to do next is top it off and sign Jack Wilshere because I would love to see Jack Wilshere at the club as well,” said Cottee on the Jim White show on talkSPORT last Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, July 21, 2017). “And that would be great.”
“You’ve just got to keep him fit, just keep him fit, that’s all you’ve got to do,” added Cottee. “He’s a £50 million player when fit.”
