Speaking on the Where’s Jeff? Podcast, West Ham legend Tony Cottee has been speaking about a potential takeover at West Ham from PAI Capital.
It’s no secret that PAI Capital want to take over at the London Stadium, and fans would be keen to see new ownership as the #GSBout campaign continues on social media.
Cottee has been in direct contact with the potential investors and he says he’s excited after asking them about three things.
Cottee asked PAI Capital about the stadium, the training ground and how much they were willing to spend on new players, and he was very satisfied with the answers, claiming that they can take the club forward.
What’s been said?
The former striker was speaking about a potential takeover at West Ham.
“I think he will sell eventually, over the next few weeks there could be a few developments,” Cottee said.
“The fans are delighted and thrilled with what’s going on on the field, but you have to look at a bigger picture, David Sullivan and David Gold, to a point they’ve done a good job, and they’ve taken the club to where they’ve taken the club.
“But the people I’ve spoken to, I’m speaking about PAI Capital obviously. They approached me and I spoke to them and I’m usually apprehensive, but I went there as a fan, I asked about the stadium, the training ground and most importantly, how much money they will spend on new players, and if I didn’t like the answers I wouldn’t have backed them publicly. I honestly believe these guys can take the club forward.”

Exciting
It remains to be seen whether or not PAI Capital end up taking control at West Ham, but it sounds as though they have an exciting plan.
Cottee wouldn’t do anything he doesn’t think is right for West Ham, and if he’s satisfied with the potential new owners’ plans, then we’re sure all supporters will be.
West Ham could be a force to be reckoned with in years to come if they get this investment.
