Tony Cascarino says West Ham player can learn from Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey

Marko Arnautovic is reportedly keen to leave West Ham to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

Tony Cascarino has claimed in his Times column that West Ham United attacker Marko Arnautovic should learn from Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey after “throwing his toys out of the pram” in a bid to earn a move.

The Daily Mail claimed over the weekend that Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande have pulled out of a deal to land the 29-year-old, after they decided against offering £45million for the 77-time Austria international.

Now, the former Stoke City attacker looks set to remain at the London Stadium, despite making it clear that he was keen to leave the club after Guangzhou offered a contract believed to be worth £280,000 a week.

Ramsey, meanwhile, is “still giving his all” for Arsenal despite the Gunners deciding against offering the Wales international a new contract. He is believed to be close to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus.

“Marko Arnautovic has done what all bad professionals do,” Cascarino said. “He has had his head turned by a big offer from China, thrown his toys out of the pram at the idea of not getting what he wants and ended up not playing for West Ham United this weekend in a match that his side lost.

“He is a great player and they missed him. His actions are in stark contrast to Aaron Ramsey. The Arsenal midfielder wanted to stay, had a contract offer retracted and will leave in the summer.

“But he is still giving his all for the club and his manager and playing well. His efforts have been a credit to him and a lesson for Arnautovic.”

Arnautovic has been in excellent form for West Ham since joining the club from Stoke in the summer of 2017, becoming a fan favourite in that time. He has scored 19 goals and created 10 more in 53 games for West Ham.

He was left out of the Hammers side on Saturday as Manuel Pellegrini’s men suffered a 2-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth, who scored goals through Callum Wilson and Josh King.

Ramsey, on the other hand, remains a crucial part of Arsenal’s side and was integral to their excellent 2-0 win over Chelsea at the Emirates on Saturday evening.
