Tottenham Hotspur striker has escaped FA punishment.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has escaped a FA ban for a headbutt on Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta.
Tony Cascarino has told The Times that he believes the FA have been deliberately lenient on Kane because of his importance and ‘prestige’ in the English game.
The pundit says that any other player would have been given a ban.
Cascarino said: “The FA is protecting its own interests by showing leniency to Harry Kane. If they can be a little lenient to England’s captain, then of course they are going to be.
“I certainly think if it had been another player without the same prestige or importance to England then they would have been made an example of by the FA.”
Cascarino pointed to Alan Shearer being charged by the FA in 1998, in which the ex-England striker clashed with the authorities by appealing against their judgement.

Kane’s let off may do him some short term benefit, but long term it actually does not help him.
He will become even more resented by rivals fans, and there will be even more scrutiny on him from the media, as England’s golden boy.
If he decides the North London derby against Arsenal by scoring a winner, Gunners fans will have every right to feel aggrieved.
The deliberate leniency Cascarino alleges will help Kane, is not fair on his rival players, and ultimately isn’t even fair to him, putting the Tottenham striker in an impossible situation.
