Tony Cascarino said on talkSPORT (7:37am, August 23, 2020) that Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is a “terrific signing” for the Ibrox club.

The former Celtic striker made the comments following Roofe’s goal for Rangers in the 2-0 win against Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The former Leeds United striker found the net in the 50th minute and had a good game overall, as Steven Gerrard’s side maintained their strong start to the season.

Cascarino said about Roofe on talkSPORT (7:37am, August 23, 2020): “I thought he was a really terrific signing for Rangers. I obviously saw a lot of him at Leeds, went abroad, came back.”

Good signing for Rangers

Roofe joined Rangers from Belgian club Anderlecht in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old failed to make a huge impact at Anderlecht last season due to injury problems, but the striker did well during his spell at Leeds.

According to WhoScored, the former West Bromwich Albion man scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the Championship for Leeds in 2018-19, and scored 11 goals and provided three assists in the league in 2017-18.

Roofe is a very good striker and a proven goalscorer, and he will give Rangers manager Gerrard another option in his team, as the Gers aim to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
