Tony Cascarino believes that Everton should consider a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Tony Cascarino insists that goalkeeping is one area that Everton need to bolster in the summer.
He points out that Everton have not had a top class goalkeeper since Neville Southall left the club in the late nineties.
Cascarino says that he was never a big fan of Tim Howard, while the current bunch at the club is average at best. Therefore, if Everton are serious about top four ambitions, they need to sign a top class young goalkeeper in the summer.
The football pundit has recommended Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford, and Stoke City’s Jack Butland as two potential candidates that Everton should take a look at.
“They should be chasing a top young goalkeeper — either Jordan Pickford, of Sunderland, or Jack Butland, of Stoke City,” said Cascarino to The Times.
Indeed, Cascarino has made a valid observation. When you look around this Everton team, you’ll find quality all around the pitch – Baines and Coleman in defence, Barkley and Davies in midfield, and Romelu Lukaku upfront, but the Toffees do not have a top class goalkeeper.
Should Everton make a move for Pickford?
The 23-year-old has been superb for Sunderland this season. Despite having a bedraggled defence in front of him, he has still managed to keep three clean sheets in the Premier League, and has made 120 saves, according to PremierLeague.com.
He is very good at punches, high claims, throw outs and sweeper clearances. Most importantly, if Sunderland get relegated, which is a high possibility, it will become easier for Everton to lure him away from the Stadium of Lights.
