Tony Cascarino has given his take on Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe in The Times.

The former Chelsea striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has said that Pepe plays like a teenager and is a bad decision-maker.

However, Cascarino was impressed by the performance of the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international during Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Cascarino wrote about Pepe in The Times: “It amazes me that Nicolas Pepe is 25. He plays like a teenager, raw, naive, a bad decision maker. But yesterday we saw that he can be a real player. There was much more belief about him, especially in his willingness to take people on.”

How did Nicolas Pepe play against Leicester City?

Pepe was one of the best players for Arsenal against Leicester and had one of his best games for the Gunners this season.

The winger was brilliant down his flank, and his performance led to Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers taking off left-back Luke Thomas.

Pepe scored a goal in the second half, was a constant threat for the opposition defence, worked hard for the team, and linked up well with the other attacking players in the team.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 74.4%, won two headers, took 72 touches, made one interception, and put in three crosses.

Pepe has scored five goals in 10 Premier League starts, and has scored three goals and provided three assists in six Europa League games for the Gunners so far this season, according to WhoScored.
