Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino suggested on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Sunday morning (broadcast from 7am, September 25, 2016) that Cesc Fabregas will not be a good fit for West Ham United.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Fabregas.

According to The Mirror, the Hammers are interested in signing the Spain international from their Premier League rivals.

Fabregas has played in four Premier League matches for Chelsea so far this season and is not guaranteed a place in the Blues’ starting lineup.

Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Cascarino does not think that the ex-Arsenal star will be a good fit for the Hammers.

“I can’t see how Lanzini, Payet and then you want to bring in Fabregas into a football club,” said Cascarino on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Sunday morning (broadcast from 7am, September 25, 2016). “I don’t see it. I don’t think that will be a good fit.”

Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini are attacking midfielders and are important players for West Ham.

It is hard to see Fabregas play alongside the duo even if he is pushed into a deeper role.

However, if the 29-year-old midfielder becomes available in the January transfer window or next summer, then West Ham should at least look into the possibility of signing him.

Fabregas may be struggling to hold down a place in the Chelsea starting lineup at the moment, but there can be no doubt that he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League’s recent history.
