Former Chelsea striker Cascarino believes that the Saints will be safe from the dreaded drop to the Championship under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Cascarino wrote in The Times: “I actually see Southampton rallying under Ralph Hasenhuttl and pulling clear of the bottom three.”
Staving off relegation
Southampton do have a good squad, and have brilliant players such as Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Bertrand, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse.
The Saints are ‘too good’ to go down, and the impact that manager Hasenhuttl has made is remarkable.
Southampton are playing some decent football, and their recent performances have also been very encouraging.
The Saints made it two wins in two at the weekend, as they got the better of Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 away from home in the Premier League.
Southampton will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Liverpool at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League.
