Newcastle United will feel that they should have scored more than the three goals against West Ham United on Saturday.

Tony Cascarino has suggested that the scoreline during Newcastle’s 3-2 win over West Ham was false because he thinks that the away team were ‘way more comfortable than that’.
TalkSport pundit Cascarino also lauded the work Newcastle have been doing on the training ground as he suggested that all their goals – which came from set-pieces – was as a result of Steve Bruce drilling his players in training.
Bruce’s side put three past the Hammers, who scored their two goals very late on in the game, as Newcastle should have added more to their tally only for them to miss a number of one-on-one opportunities.
It was a pretty devastating display from Newcastle and something the fans have not been used to as their team counter-attacked West Ham with relative ease.
Speaking to Weekend Sports Breakfast on TalkSport (03/11/2019 06:15 am), Cascarino was impressed with what he saw from Newcastle.
“I tell you what did stand out about the Newcastle game,” Cascarino told TalkSport. “How much work was done on the training ground in the build-up to the game.
“The reason being is that all three goals were set-pieces. All three were. So, they have punished West Ham by being very well drilled. And it wasn’t a 3-2 game, it was way more comfortable than that.
“West Ham have got two late goals, which has made it look quite close when it wasn’t. It was anything but that.”

Bruce will be hoping, from an attacking standpoint, they can use the performance at West Ham as a template to continue it on for future matches.
Added with that, the performances at home will need to also improve and with Bournemouth visiting St James’ Park on Saturday, the fans will be hoping their players can add consistency to their performances.
Whilst the majority of Newcastle fans didn’t want Bruce in charge at the club, the bare minimum he can do is win matches to try and win them over.
