Leeds United have appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their new head coach.

Championship club Leeds have appointed former Marseille manager Bielsa as their new head coach following the departure of Paul Heckingbottom this summer.
Former Republic of Ireland international striker Cascarino, who played for Millwall, Aston Villa and Marseille among other clubs, has suggested that the Whites’ decision could backfire due to the aggressive nature of Bielsa’s playing style.

While praising Leeds for appointing Bielsa and raving about the Argentine boss, Cascarino said on the World Cup Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Saturday morning (8:29am, June 16, 2018): “The only thing that I would say, as much as I think he could do brilliantly well, it could backfire because how aggressive the style is, players just wanting to get into forward positions.”

Good appointment for Leeds United?
Bielsa is one of the most innovative football managers in the world, and Leeds being able to secure his services is nothing short of a coup.
Having managed the likes of the Argentina national football team, Athletic Bilbao and Marseille, the 62-year-old is a blockbuster appointment for the Whites.
It is not going to be easy for the players, though. Bielsa is a very demanding coach who wants his players to be very intense during the entire 90 minutes, and it will be interesting to see if the Leeds players can maintain it for 46 games in the Championship next season.
