Everton suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss to Wolves at home.

Tony Cascarino has hammered Everton in his Times column, claiming that Sam Allardyce’s Everton boasted more character and that none of the new signings have made a significant impact.
Everton were beaten 3-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, as goals from Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker cancelled out Andre Gomes’ first-half effort.
The Toffees now sit in ninth place in the Premier League, having lost more league games than they have won following Saturday’s defeat – which was their tenth loss in England’s top tier this season.
Cascarino criticised Michael Keane, Theo Walcott and Kurt Zouma as well as suggesting that Allardyce’s side had more about them than Silva’s has, with the Portuguese replacing Allardyce in the summer.
“Everton are really suffering at the moment and it’s down to a lack of character in the squad,” Cascarino said. “They have spent a lot of money, but they are exactly where they were in terms of league position but with far less character in the squad than when Sam Allardyce was manager.
“Not one of their signings has been a hit. Richarlison has been okay but Yerry Mina is not the player we saw at the World Cup and Michael Keane has not lived up to his price tag either. Theo Walcott — where has he been?
“He was a shadow of himself on Saturday as they lost 3-1 to Wolves. It is a very unbalanced squad and a very inadequate squad. Marco Silva has got a problem because their fans are losing faith and the people upstairs may be too.”

Everton failed to bring in any new signings on deadline day, despite the club being in need of a striker. Richarlison has been used as a makeshift front man, while Cenk Tosun struggles for form.
The pressure is mounting on former Hull City and Watford boss Silva, who now face a difficult clash against Manchester City on Wednesday night on Merseyside.
