Mamadou Sakho is back at Liverpool after a loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino said on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Saturday morning (broadcast from 7am, July 22, 2017) that Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is one of the poorest trainers at the club.

Sakho has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2013 when he made the switch from Paris Saint-Germain for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £16 million.

The France international defender arrived at Anfield with a strong reputation, but the centre-back has failed to make a huge impact at the Reds and spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old did well during his time at Palace and helped the Selhurst Park outfit stave off relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

Sakho is now back at Liverpool, but it remains to be seen if he has a future at the Merseyside outfit under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Former Chelsea striker Cascarino has revealed that he has been told that the defender is one of the poorest trainers at Liverpool.

“I’m told that Sakho is one of the poorest trainers,” said Cascarino on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Saturday morning (broadcast from 7am, July 22, 2017).

“Sometimes you get lads in football clubs who are not the best trainers in the world, and I have heard that Sakho has been guilty of it.”
