West Ham United failed to win at the weekend. The Hammers played out a 2-2 draw with Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Andre Ayew opened the scoring for West Ham in the fifth minute, but Wahbi Khazri levelled for the Black Cats on 26 minutes.

James Collins put the London outfit back in front just two minutes into the second half, but Fabio Borini made it 2-2 in the 90th minute.

The Hammers ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Sam Byram in the fifth minute of injury time.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has criticised West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph for his role in Sunderland’s equaliser.

“Darren Randolph’s dad Ed was a professional basketball player and I think that is where the West Ham United goalkeeper gets his jumping confidence from,” Cascarino wrote in The Times. “The problem is, the confidence is misplaced.

“Again we saw him mistiming a jump and it cost his team a goal. He spilt the ball and Fabio Borini was able to smash home Sunderland’s equaliser in the 90th minute, which meant that West Ham dropped two points. Randolph’s got an amazing leap but too often he jumps early.”

Randolph has featured in 22 Premier League matches for West Ham so far this season, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Slaven Bilic’s side are 13th in the league table at the moment with 37 points from 33 matches, nine points above the relegation zone.
