Tony Cascarino believes Mauricio Pochettino could remain at Tottenham for the next five years as he has constructed a “conveyor belt” of talent from the youth team.

Pochettino, 45, is now in his fourth season as Spurs manager and has a contract with the north Londoners until June 2021.

Known for his faith in youth, Pochettino has handed opportunities to the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks among others, gaining wide acclamation for his style of management.

Former Chelsea ace Cascarino wrote in his Times column that Pochettino’s system could see him remain in the Spurs managerial hotseat for another five years, as well as comparing such a structure to Chelsea’s way of doing things.

“Spurs are the opposite (to Chelsea),” Cascarino declared. “They have different ideas and they come from the manager, who is as secure in his role as anybody.

“You feel that, unless he decides to move on, Mauricio Pochettino could be there for another three or five years.

“He has been able to mould a conveyor belt from the younger levels, making it a cornerstone of what Tottenham are doing. Chelsea, meanwhile, is a conveyor belt for everyone else.”

Tottenham are next in action against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at Old Trafford, with second place in the Premier League up for grabs.

Spurs will be without star striker Kane though, who has failed to overcome a hamstring strain that saw him withdrawn before the full-time whistle during his side’s 4-1 win over Liverpool last Sunday.
