According to The Mirror, Spanish giants Madrid are interested in appointing Pochettino as their head coach.
It has been reported that the Argentine boss is at the top of the list of possible candidates to replace Zinedine Zidane.
According to the report, Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to win La Liga and could replace Zidane with Pochettino.
Former Aston Villa striker Cascarino has given his thoughts on the speculation linking the Tottenham head coach with the Madrid job.
“It is a job that very few people, players included, can turn down,” said Cascarino on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Sunday morning (broadcast from 7am, October 30, 2016). “Now, if that was true and they come after Pochettino, it would be a huge test on him.
“Tottenham as a football club is moving forward fast. New stadium on the horizon, a very young team, an exciting team, he has got his hands over that football club, and it is working and working very well.”
Pochettino has done a wonderful job at Tottenham, and it should not come as a surprise to anyone that Madrid are (reportedly) looking at him.
It would be hard for the Argentine to turn down Los Blancos if they come calling next summer. The question is whether Pochettino is ready to take charge of the biggest club in the world.
