Leeds United are likely to miss out on this season’s Championship play-offs.

Tony Cascarino has shared his transfer window fear for Leeds United, but hopes the Whites can come back stronger if they fail to gain promotion this season.
Garry Monk’s team appear to have lost form at the worst possible time and look likely to miss out on the Championship play-offs, despite having occupied a top-six place since November.
One more win for Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday, who face off at Hillsborough next Sunday, in their final two fixtures, and another point for Reading will be enough to consign Leeds to another season in the second tier.
The fallen giants had been one of the league’s unexpected success stories this term, having been revitalised under new boss Monk.
More Whites stars, defender Pontus Jansson and divisional top scorer Wood, were named in the EFL Championship team of the year than any of their play-off rivals bar Huddersfield Town (also two), and both have unsurprisingly been linked with moves away in recent weeks.
Discussing Leeds’ predicament on Talksport this morning (Wednesday), Cascarino, the former Republic of Ireland striker, said: “They’ve got a goalscorer like Chris Wood that’s done unbelievable in front of goal, he’s improved more than any player in the Championship.

“He has just looked like a goal machine and I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose him this summer.”
Asked if he expects to see Leeds in the Premier League any time soon, Cascarino replied: “I think Garry’s the right man. I hope they can keep Chris Wood, because that’s going to be tough. I hope they can produce the younger element of their team to go on and give them a chance next season.
“They’ve got the fanbase and if they can create an atmosphere, if they can fill up the stadium – take a leaf out the book of what Huddersfield have achieved – it could be an amazing time at Leeds (next season).”
