Tony Cascarino comments on Jordan Henderson’s Liverpool future

Jordan Henderson has been at Liverpool since 2011.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino suggested on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (9:12am, May 4, 2019) that Jordan Henderson could leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Cascarino believes that lack of regular playing time at Liverpool and the need to retain his place in the England national team could see the former Sunderland midfielder head for the exit at Anfield this summer.

Cascarino said about Henderson on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (9:12am, May 4, 2019): “I think Henderson will want to play, his England place, be playing regular, and I think Jordan could move on this summer. He is the marmite of football.”

Liverpool exit?

Henderson has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2011 when he joined from Sunderland.

The England international midfielder has established himself as an important player for the Reds over the years and is also the Liverpool captain.

However, the 28-year-old is not guaranteed a place in the Reds’ starting lineup, and perhaps the midfielder will seek a move away from Liverpool this summer.

According to WhoScored, Henderson has made 20 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.

The Englishman has made six starts and three substitute appearances in the Champions League for the Reds this campaign, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
