Tottenham Hotspur will play Liverpool in the Champions League final at the start of next month.

Lucas Moura of Tottenham Hotspur warms up prior to the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton FC at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 12, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Tony Cascarino has claimed that Neymar always felt that Tottenham Hotspur ace Lucas Moura should have been in the Paris Saint-Germain team prior to his departure from the club in 2018.

The Brazil international is, at this moment in time, Mauricio Pochettino’s last signing at the club given the fact that they have not added any new players to their squad for the past two transfer windows.

On Wednesday night, Moura wrote his name into the history books when he scored a stunning hat-trick against Ajax to send his team through to the Champions League final.

Speaking to Weekend Sports Breakfast on TalkSport (11/05/2019 at 7:10 am), Cascarino credited Tottenham for showing faith in the talented Moura.

“Neymar spoke about him when he was at PSG,” Cascarino told TalkSport. “He was in Neymar’s mind should have been in the team and he wasn’t in the squad.

“The reason why Spurs got him is because he was a Brazilian that they all knew had talent, but somehow had a falling out at PSG. They spent £25 million on him, got him fit and Lucas Moura’s like lighting. He’s a bit like Son. Full credit to the club [Spurs].”

Given the fact that Harry Kane has been on the sidelines with an injury, Moura has stepped up to the plate for his club and produced the goods in the most emphatic fashion.

PSG suffered an early exit in the Champions League and Moura will be delighted that he is proving his worth to a club that was seemingly happy to see him leave.

In June, Pochettino and his players will be gearing up for the biggest game of their season when they hope to lift the European Cup by beating fellow Premier League side Liverpool.
