Tony Cascarino has claimed that soon-to-be Tottenham signing, Ivan Perisic, is a ‘really, really clever’ player, as he told talkSPORT.
The former striker added that the 33-year-old can ‘add something to Tottenham’, as Antonio Conte closes in on a reunion with the Inter Milan star.
It’s common knowledge that Conte likes to work with and bring in experienced players, and 33-year-old Perisic, is no different.
Tottenham are one step closer to signing the versatile forward, with the Independent reporting that the Croatian star has agreed on a two-year contract at Spurs.
Ahead of that transfer, Cascarino shared his thoughts on the player and how he could be used by Conte.
“He will play more out wide,” said Cascarino. “I mean his best position is wide, for me, when I have seen him.
“He can be used (in different roles). He’s not an out-and-out winger. He’s not that type of player.
“Perisic is actually one of them that likes to tuck in. But a really, really clever player. Experienced. And he can add something to Tottenham.”

CONTE GETTING BACKED BY DANIEL LEVY
Well, the early signs suggest that Daniel Levy is going to provide Conte with what he wants this summer.
The Italian has provided Tottenham with what they want, in regards to Champions League football, and now it’s time to build on that success.
Given that Spurs have Champions League football to look forward to next season, it does make life easier in luring some of the top talents to their shores this summer.
But, more depth will be needed if Spurs are to cope with the extra pressure and expectations that will be on their shoulders next season.
