Tony Cascarino has claimed that Manchester United can only ‘dream’ of having players such as Arsenal duo Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Whilst Arsenal struggle from a defensive standpoint, when it comes to putting the ball into the back of the net, they have the deadly duo of Lacazette and Aubameyang at their disposal.

Aubameyang especially is a very underrated figure in the Premier League, having being joint top-scorer in England’s top-flight last season, along with Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

Speaking to Sports Breakfast on TalkSport (12/10/2019 at 8:30 am), Cascarino shared his thoughts on United’s goalscoring problems and how they need an Aubameyang, Mane or Salah like figure in their team.

“Give me Lacazette and Aubameyang every day of the week,” Cascarino told TalkSport. “I think they guarantee 40 goals. Manchester United would dream of having them two.

“Aubameyang’s goalscoring record is extraordinary. It’s one, I think when I look at United, they haven’t got an Aguero, they haven’t got a Kane, or an Aubameyang, or a Lacazette, a Salah or Mane. They just haven’t got any of that. And that’s why they are failing because they don’t have forwards of that quality.”

It has been obvious for some time now that United have serious issues in the final third as they are relying on Marcus Rashford and youngster Mason Greenwood for goals, at this moment in time.

Dan James has perhaps been their biggest threat, and he only joined the club in the summer from Championship side Swansea City.

Nonetheless, Aubameyang has proven since the day he walked into English football the type of threat he can be. He has scored seven goals from his opening eight league matches for Arsenal this season [transfermarkt].
