Writing in the Times, Tony Cascarino has praised Arsenal striker Theo Walcott, saying he has added composure to his game this season.

It appeared the England man could leave the Emirates this summer after falling down the pecking order at the club last season.

Instead, he has battled his way back in and has now featured in all of Arsenal’s six games in this campaign so far.

He was in fine form this weekend as he put in a star performance in his team’s 3-0 win over rivals Chelsea.

He bagged the second goal in that game, starting and finishing a superb Arsenal move, in an all round superb display.

Cascarino was impressed by what he saw, saying he believes Walcott has added a vital factor to his game this season.

“I think it’s clear that he is getting back to his best,” he told the Times.

“He’s still got that blistering pace but he seems far more composed now. The question is: how long can he stay fit and maintain that level?”

Walcott’s goal was his third in six games, making him the Gunners second highest goalscorer so far behind Alexis Sanchez.

That is an impressive tally for a man who only managed five in the entirety of last season.

His other stats are equally notable. He has already managed to register an assist; last season he only registered two across the entire campaign.

He has also improved when it comes to key passes per game and won contests per game and Arsenal will be hoping that is a sign he is finally set for a big year at the club.
