Tony Carr would be open to a West Ham United return.

Former West Ham United academy director Tony Carr has told The Telegraph that he would be interested in a return to the club.
The Hammers have a long history of bringing through academy players, and Carr was seen as the mastermind behind their conveyor belt.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole and Jermain Defoe all came through the Hammers ranks before earning big moves and becoming England regulars.
More recently, Mark Noble and James Tomkins have made the step up, whilst Declan Rice is also emerging in the West Ham first team right now.
Carr spent more than 40 years as West Ham’s academy director, but left the role in 2014 to make way for Terry Westley, becoming a club ambassador.
Carr left that role two years later having been offered reduced terms, with some a little unhappy at how a club favourite was treated upon his exit.

Now, Carr has admitted that he would be interested in a return to the club in some way, noting that West Ham will ‘always’ be his club – but whether the Hammers make a move remains to be seen, with Carr keen to rebuild broken bridges.
“They have always been and will always be my club and if there was any way in the future I could go back and be of some value somewhere I would be happy to do that,” said Carr. “If there were any bridges broken then I’d like to rebuild them. My phone number is still the same,” he added.
