West Ham United striker Toni Martinez came on to make his debut against Shrewsbury Town yesterday.

West Ham took on Shrewsbury in the FA Cup yesterday, and David Moyes took the chance to hand Martinez his senior debut.
The Spanish striker has been in wonderful form for the Hammers’ development side, ever since he arrived 18 months ago.

But both Moyes and Slaven Bilic have shown a reluctance to use Martinez to date.
The former Valencia man was finally handed an opportunity yesterday though, as West Ham took on Shrewsbury Town.
And although Martinez was unable to score in the fixture, as West Ham could only manage to pick up a 0-0 draw, there was a belief from within the London side’s squad that the youngster would score the winner.

“The lads were joking in the dressing room that I would get the winner because I’ve played two games in the FA Cup and scored two goals! I was unlucky on Sunday as I didn’t get any chances, but I’ll be ready for the next one,” Martinez said.
West Ham will now have to face Shrewsbury in a replay at the London Stadium, to decide which of the two teams make it through to round four of the competition.
