Toni Martinez sends Marcus Browne message after West Ham loan exit

Marcus Browne has left West Ham United to join Oxford United on loan for the coming season.

Toni Martinez has taken to Twitter to wish Marcus Browne luck after the midfielder completed his loan move from West Ham to Oxford United for the coming season.

Browne goes into this season still awaiting his Premier League debut for the Hammers. He has appeared for the senior side before, making a substitute appearance for the Irons during one of their Europa League qualifiers during Slaven Bilic’s tenure.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he has been allowed to continue his development elsewhere for the coming campaign, with League One side Oxford United taking the 20-year-old on loan until next summer. He becomes Karl Robinson’s eighth signing of the window.

Martinez knows all about the third tier side. He joined the club on loan during his first year on the Hammers’ books following his move from Valencia, and went on to make 17 appearances for the side. He scored three goals.

And after Browne completed his loan exit from the London Stadium, Martinez sent a message of support to his teammate…

Browne may still be a youngster, but he would perhaps be forgiven for feeling the pressure to make the most of his time away from West Ham given that he has not featured for the senior side since making his debut.

The Hammers are well stocked when it comes to attacking midfielders and wingers, so Browne may perhaps really need to stand out during his time away from the Irons if he hopes to take himself onto the periphery of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans upon his return next year.
