Chelsea have never been far from the spotlight this season, regularly finding themselves at the centre of conversation.
Multiple players have found themselves linked with Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
At the end of December, there were reports that Chelsea had shown interest in Antoine Semenyo before quickly pulling out of the race for his signature.
However, the most significant story to come out of the club this season has been Enzo Maresca’s departure.
Toni Kroos was surprised by Chelsea’s decision to let Enzo Maresca go

On the first day of the new year, Chelsea announced on their official website that they had “parted company” with Maresca.
It has been reported that Maresca offered his resignation and the club accepted it, a move that seemed to catch Toni Kroos off guard.
Speaking on Einfach mal Luppen, the German legend said: “I have to say, though, Chelsea wasn’t on my radar.
“I mean, they actually picked up the most points of all Premier League teams in November – however you want to phrase that. That surprised me as well because they had also won the Club World Cup back in the summer. I found that surprising.”
After Maresca left, Chelsea quickly appointed Liam Rosenior, acquiring the 41-year-old from their sister club, Strasbourg.
Given Kroos’ history of being very outspoken, it would be interesting to know his thoughts on the appointment.
Enzo Maresca’s future moves under the spotlight
In an ideal scenario, Maresca would have remained with Chelsea. He had a strong season there last year, picking up the Club World Cup and Conference League trophies.
Still, leaving Stamford Bridge might not work against him. There are reports that Real Madrid rate him highly, and he could be in the frame for their managerial job if Alvaro Arbeloa steps down at the end of the season.
Juventus have also been linked with interest in bringing back their former player, so a move to Turin remains a possibility as well. Wherever he ends up next, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Maresca land another top-level opportunity.
