Liverpool return to Anfield this Saturday for a Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Paul Merson is backing Arne Slot’s side to take all three points on December 12, even though their form hasn’t been impressive.
They are unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions, none of which Mohamed Salah started.
However, Liverpool have won just two of their last 10 Premier League games, and their record at Anfield hasn’t been great either.
What Toni Kroos has said about the atmosphere at Anfield

Liverpool have only picked up two wins from their last seven matches on home soil, which is a far cry from what fans have come to expect over the years.
One player who knows the difficulty of playing there is Toni Kroos, who has spoken before about how different matches feel when facing Liverpool at Anfield.
The midfielder explained: “When you played at Anfield, or at City, they pressed you from the very first second – there was no tomorrow. And whenever we played Liverpool at home, or City, or even in the finals, those were completely different games.”
“I don’t know why that is, I can’t explain it because they’re all top teams. But those teams play away games differently – with noticeably less intensity than they do at home,” he added.
What Toni Kroos has said about Liverpool’s chances in the Champions League
Earlier in the campaign, Liverpool got the better of Real Madrid, Toni Kroos’ old club, in the Champions League.
Jamie Carragher has suggested that Arne Slot is laser-focused on winning that competition this year.
Kroos initially included Liverpool among his favourites but later changed his view, speaking about it on the Einfach mal Luppen podcast back in October.
“Those were the four teams I mentioned that I see as contenders to win the Champions League.
“I think you [his brother, Felix] had left Paris out, right? Honestly, I can’t really imagine that.”
“If so, then I’ll bring them back in now. I’ll bring them back in now, and I’d leave Liverpool out.”
