Speaking on his Twitch channel, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Felipe Anderson is in Rome to sign with Lazio on Tuesday.

Romano made these comments on Monday evening, so this is a transfer that could be done in the coming hours.

The Brazilian spent last season out on loan at Porto, and while he was spotted back with West Ham for pre-season training, the winger’s time as a Hammer is seemingly up.

What’s been said?

Romano was answering questions from his viewers, and with his large Italian following, inevitably questions about Lazio cropped up.

Romano claimed that Anderson will be in Rome on Tuesday to sign as a Lazio player.

“Any news about Lazio? Felipe Anderson is in Rome tomorrow to sign as a new Lazio player,” the journalist said.

Shame

It seems as though Anderson is about to close the West Ham chapter of his career, and that’s a real shame.

Anderson arrived in England with a lot of hype and excitement surrounding him, but aside from a few fleeting moments, he’s not been able to live up to his potential at West Ham.

A return to Lazio will hopefully see him rediscover his best form, but the fact that Anderson is going to be leaving for a minimal fee, reportedly around €5m (£4.2m) after joining for a then club-record figure is disappointing.
