Wes Foderingham made just his second Scottish Premiership start of the season and kept a clean sheet as Rangers drew with St Johnstone at Ibrox.

Tommy Wright has suggested that Wes Foderingham was the difference between a draw and a win as his St Johnstone side failed to break down Rangers in Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash, speaking to the club’s official Twitter account.
Foderingham made only his second league appearance of the season as The Saints travelled to Ibrox this weekend, stepping up from the bench after Allan McGregor picked up a two-match ban following a clash with Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson.
The 25-year-old, who has been Rangers’ number one over the last three seasons, offered a timely reminder of his quality, keeping a clean sheet and making a number of impressive saves.
“The performance was excellent, Foderingham makes a great save off (Chris) Kane in the first half. We hit the crossbar, it nearly drops in and Foderingham makes another outstanding save,” said the Northern Irishman.

Foderingham cast doubt on his future at Ibrox after the game, pointing out that he was hardly happy with life stuck on the substitute’s bench with 36-year-old McGregor firmly established as the number one since Steven Gerrard took over last summer (Daily Record).
But his stand-out performance against St Johnstone should give Gerrard some food for thought.
