Tommy Fleetwood played alongside Cam Young during the first two rounds of The Memorial Tournament this week.
Fleetwood has played some really good golf this week, posting rounds of 67 and 73 to trail the leader, J.T. Poston, by five heading into the weekend.
Young hasn’t quite been at his best, but the 29-year-old New Yorker still made the cut after finishing up at three-over par for the first two rounds.
Fleetwood and Young both endured plenty of difficulties on the course on day two at The Memorial Tournament, with the wind gusting, the greens as slick as they come and the rough thick and gnarly.

Tommy Fleetwood hasn’t been in good form recently, with his last event a missed cut at the PGA Championship.
So the 35-year-old Englishman will be hoping for a strong weekend in Dublin, Ohio, as he looks to build up some confidence ahead of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills later this month.
Tommy Fleetwood says watching Cam Young hit shots at Memorial was ‘confusing’
Fleetwood spoke to reporters after his second round at Muirfield Village on Friday afternoon.
The Englishman was asked just how challenging the conditions were at Jack’s Place.
And when responding, Fleetwood made a comment on how watching Cam Young made things even more difficult for him.

“I don’t know. We had a couple of windy days last year and I can’t really remember. I just remember it being very, very tough,“ he said.
“Like, when you’re in a two ball so you can see what the other player does as well and — like, the 10th hole today, I took an example as — I didn’t know at the time, but Cameron’s hitting 8-iron from where he was in the fairway and it carried 160 yards. I hit a wedge and carried it 160 yards in the space of what, a minute.
“And then 12, Cam hit a great shot, and I heard him say he was playing it 158 and, I mean it didn’t sniff the green. I played it three yards less, and it looked like it was struggling at one stage.
“It was confusing, but that’s what the wind — it did, it swirled around a lot. And then you’ve got to pick your poison on where you want to chip from.“
Tommy Fleetwood reacts to J.T. Poston’s 65 on Friday at Memorial
After he finished his second round, the 2025 Tour Championship winner commented on J.T. Poston’s sensational 65 at Muirfield Village.
“So, I can’t believe J.T. shot 7-under,“ Fleetwood admitted.
“I think, yeah, a good test of golf would be the best player being able to separate himself from somebody that’s not playing anywhere near as good.
“So, yeah, that’s like the best judgment of a good test. I think J.T. — I’m looking forward to watching his round back, actually I need to find that on TV and watch how he played today. But that’s like, you know, that’s phenomenal, and I just felt like anything — how many people broke par this afternoon?
“I’m hoping it’s not a lot. But, yeah, like it was just tough. But again, that’s the test that you are given today and you’ve got to get on with it.“
