Tommy Elphick and Keinan Davis heaped praise on Aston Villa, the supporters and the club after they won 10 games on the bounce for the first time in their history.

Dean Smith’s side recorded a deserved 1-0 win over Millwall on Monday afternoon at Villa Park, with striker Jonathan Kodjia netting the history-making goal.

It has been an unbelievable run for Villa in recent months, who have now secured a playoff spot as they will now go into those games full of confidence.

After the game, centre-back Elphick and striker Davis sent these messages on their personal Twitter account:

Elphick, who returned to the matchday squad on Monday, was an unused substitute as Mile Jedinak played at the heart of the club’s defence alongside Tyrone Mings.

As for Davis, he came off the bench to replace Kodjia in the second half and he looked lively and could have got on the scoresheet.

On Sunday, Smith’s side will make the trip to Yorkshire to take on Leeds United, who beat them 3-2 during the reverse fixture in December.

Whilst Villa have secured their playoff spot, they can still finish above Midland rivals West Brom if they can better their results during these final two Championship matches.
