Takehiro Tomiyasu has stated on his Instagram story that he will ‘carry on working hard’ after he was named Arsenal’s Player of the Month for September.

On Thursday, Arsenal confirmed that their summer signing had earned just over half of the votes from supporters, beating the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Aaron Ramsdale and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the prize.

And then on Saturday, he took to his Instagram story to share this following message regarding that announcement.

“Thank you because of you all who supporting me always,” said Tomiyasu.”Carry on working hard.”

It has been some introduction for Tomiyasu and he is fast becoming a fan favourite in North London already.

The right-back started three Premier League games during the month of September helping his side, who were bottom when he joined, pick up maximum points and secure two clean sheets.

Not forgetting the win against Tottenham, where the £16 million player (Guardian) was mightily impressive despite coming up against Heung-Min Son.

Either way, it has been some introduction from Tomiyasu, and whilst it’s still early days, the club may have found their solution to their right-back problems.

It has been an issue for a long while, way before Mikel Arteta stepped through the doors, but now they have a player with an engine, physical presence and defensive understanding to play that role.

In the long run, it will be interesting to see how Arteta uses Tomiyasu because he has also shown that he has the qualities to play at centre-back.

As mentioned, he has the presence at the back, the way he senses danger is exceptional and his use of the ball is also very strong.
