Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu could miss the match against Watford this weekend, as quoted in Football.London.
Arteta’s Arsenal will take on Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arsenal manager Arteta has said that Japan international right-back Tomiyasu remains doubtful for the match.
As reported by Football.London, the 23-year-old defender aggravated a calf injury against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup back in January.
Tomiyasu returned to the bench for the match against Brentford, but he damaged his other calf just days later.
Mikel Arteta on Arsenal right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu
Arteta told Football.London about Tomiyasu: “Same place as last week. We still have the doubt with Tomiyasu, the rest I think they’re all there.”

Hoping for the best
In our view, Tomiyasu is a very good and capable right-back and is a key figure for Arsenal.
Now, we know that Arsenal are doing well without the former Bologna star, who cost £19.8 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2021 (Sky Sports).
Cedric Soares is a decent right-back, and Nuno Tavares is capable of playing in that position as well.
That Arsenal are winning games without their first-choice right-back shows how well they are doing.
Hopefully for Arsenal fans, Tomiyasu will be back before soon, and that is only going to make the Gunners a better and stronger team.
