Celtic were 1-0 winners over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has hailed his team’s defensive display in the win over Aberdeen.
The Hoops travelled to Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon looking to continue their strong start to the season.
They managed to do just that as a solitary goal from the Australian midfielder saw the Bhoys leaving with all three points.
In truth Celtic dominated the game, enjoying 61 per cent of the possession throughout and registering six shots on target.
Aberdeen, meanwhile, only managed to get two shots on target but Rogic has praised the defence for ensuring neither ended up in the back of the net with the scoreline so tight.
“It was really nice and it was an important win for us,” he told the club’s official website.
“When you don’t take your chances you are open to that (an equaliser) so maybe the most pleasing thing today was how we defended as a team and a unit. It was very good.”
The result continued Celtic’s strong start to the season and their resurgence under manager Brendan Rodgers.
They remain top of the Scottish Premiership, with 28 points from their first ten games of the campaign seeing them sit nine points ahead of second-placed Rangers.
They have now won their last five games in the league and will be keen to make it six out of six when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park next weekend.
