Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has told Sky Sports that they are wary of Barcelona looking to bounce back from the surprise defeat to Alaves.
The Scottish champions travel to the Nou Camp this evening for the first game of their Champions League campaign.
They head to Spain full of confidence after their comprehensive 5-1 win over rivals Rangers in the Old Firm derby.
They take on a Barcelona side who are reeling after a surprise defeat by newly-promoted Alaves at the weekend.
That game saw them rest several of their big stars and Rogic admits his side are wary of the La Liga champions looking to bounce back.
“They are one of the best sides in the world, we are aware of the quality they have individually and as a squad,” he told Sky Sports.
“Obviously it [Alaves defeat] wasn’t ideal for them but they are a top side and they will want to bounce back so we are wary of that and ready for the challenge.”
While Barcelona are clear favourite, Brendan Rodgers’ side will certainly head into the game full of confidence.
The defeat to Alaves showed that Barcelona are beatable and the Hoops should be looking to tap into that.
Key to their hopes could be winger Scott Sinclair, who has enjoyed a strong start in Scotland after joining from Aston Villa earlier this summer.
He will likely be coming up against Sergi Roberto and the Hoops should be looking to exploit his relative inexperience as much as possible.
