Tom Lees has admitted to the Sheffield Star that Sheffield Wednesday’s current poor run of form has been tough to take.

Wednesday have lost three games on the spin, which has caused them to sink right down into 15th place in the Championship table.

And Lees believes that the Owls poor run of form all comes down to one defeat against Middlesbrough and their failure to deal with the loss properly.

He said: “We lost a game against Middlesbrough where we didn’t necessarily play badly. I have made a bad, bad error on the night.

“But from being in the play-offs and having lost one game in nine, we have now lost three in a row.

“We are in the position that we are in because of the way things have been handled. Rather than just losing one game, we have lost three. I find it difficult to deal with how one loss has caused this run.”

Lees was left out of Wednesday’s recent match against Queens Park Rangers, in what was a shock decision by Jos Luhukay.

Lees was restored to Wednesday’s line-up at the weekend, when they took on Birmingham City, but he did not perform up to his usual standards.

Luhukay’s side were beaten 3-1 by Birmingham in what was a disappointing display.

Wednesday are next in action on Saturday, when they face in-form Norwich City, looking to get their season back on track.
